2022-2023 PTSA ANNUAL REPORT
ADMINISTRATIVE
· Revised and adopted Local Standing Rules
· Converted to BoosterHub platform for 2022-23 school year including online store, website, chat, and volunteers.
· Redesigned BoosterHub website
· Represented parent interests at the School Improvement Team monthly meetings.
· Coordinated programming with representatives from Band, Athletics, and Theatre at the quarterly President’s Council meetings.
ADVOCACY PROGRAMMING
· April is for Advocacy social media initiative to provide health and wellness resources to parents and students.
ARTS PROGRAMMING
· Arts Education – Sponsored a hands-on tile mosaic workshop for art students. Students designed and cut tiles for mosaic to be installed in the Commons area.
FUNDRAISING
· Hosted monthly Husky Nights raising $2,130 in profit
· Designed and sold class t-shirts resulting in $585 in profit
· Raised $2,800 in Husky Donations
· Raised $2,536 in Teacher Appreciation restricted funds
· Raised over $360 in legacy brick sales
· Raised $4,358 in retail rebates from grocery stores and retailers.
· Reclaimed nearly $2,296 in sales tax refunds
· Partnered with the volleyball team to staff a NC State Concessions Stand to raise $1,009 in profit
HOSPITALITY, APPRECIATION AND RECOGNITION
· Provided four faculty/staff luncheons.
· Celebrated faculty/staff appreciation week and assorted “appreciation” days for administrative and staff throughout the school year.
· Sponsored Teacher of the Year and Assistant Teacher of the Year banquet tickets, small awards and plaques.
· Provided gift cards and/or snack items for various activities including career fairs and in support of administration activities

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AWARDS
· Recognize outstanding students with varying post-graduate paths, the HHS PTSA offered four $500 awards to one student in each of the following categories:
- Enrolled in a 4-year college/university;
- Enrolled in a Technical School or 2-year program;
- Enlisted in a branch of the armed services; or
- Employed in a self-owned business or organizer of a non-profit organization. (No applicants as of deadline)
STUDENT EVENTS
· Celebrated Senior students with first day Senior Breakfast.
· To host graduation awards day reception in late May.
· Provided “good luck on final exams” treats for all students at various entrances twice.
· Facilitated ordering and distribution of Senior Yard Signs for graduates.
· Provided homecoming and prom court crowns and flowers.
· Provided volunteer staffing to Student Government events when requested.
· Hosted Senior Send Off for seniors and their families in March after Senior Night info session.
TEACHER MINI-GRANT AWARDS
· Purchased t-shirts for the ECS students to wear in the Field of Dreams event.
· Purchased Spanish materials for the Healthful Living classes
· Purchased registration for HHS teacher participation in the Franc Conference for world language teaching collaboration
· Purchased t-shirts for students participating in the WRAL Brain Game
· Purchased registration fee for a third team to participate in the Science Olympiad
· Purchase authentic language learning resources for world language students
· Purchased SMORE e-newsletter subscription for career communications
· Funded graphic novel books for media center collection
· Funded SPED entrepreneurial skills supplies for school enterprise
· Funded incentives and prizes supporting positive behavior
· Funded News2You weekly online newspaper tool for ECS students
· Funded reception cake for the HHS National Honor Society reception
· Funded cafeteria meals for male students identified as first-generation college students on field trip to UNC-G and A&T for college
